The bonus games range far beyond the normal "Tetris with some blocks already laid out," including weirdo modes like one in which you guide a single game piece through a racetrack, a game about building up a cylindrical tower, and even AR modes that put the Tetris playing field on your desk.

The popular Japanese arcade shooter is now available in 3D. Guide TwinBee as you shoot through the clouds.

This vertical-scrolling arcade game was originally available only on the Famicom system in Japan. Now, for the first time ever in North America, fans can play this classic shooter with a new 3D look. Guide the TwinBee spacecraft as you dodge and destroy waves of aerial and ground enemies. If you get hit and lose both of your ship’s arms, find an ambulance for repairs quickly. Shoot through the clouds to uncover bells. Collect the bells for extra points, or continue to shoot at them to gain different upgrades for your ship. Additional power-ups can also be collected from the ground. Fly high in the sky with your anthropomorphic spacecraft in this new version of a classic.

Yusuke Amano has explained to the Official Nintendo Magazine why Nintendo neglected to include an online mode for Star Fox 64 3D on the Nintendo 3DS. Amano cited cost and time constraints as the reasoning behind the lack of online multiplayer support, but he says future iterations of the franchise could include online multiplayer.

“Personally, I play a lot of online FPS games,” began Amano. “This leads me to think that just making multiplayer parts of existing games playable online isn’t enough to create a satisfying experience for users. The popular online games work in lots of things, so they play well online – and if we wanted to satisfy everyone who bought the game, the costs required for including online support would be vast.”

“For this project what we needed to do was use Star Fox to provide users with a game that shows the appeal of Nintendo 3DS as quickly as possible. We put a lot of effort into the graphics, and if we had included online support then we couldn’t have reached this level in the time allowed.”

“We didn’t cut any corners for the multiplayer mode in this game. We did lots of experimentation for the normal wireless local multiplayer and included lots of new features. Working on the multiplayer part was a nice, satisfying challenge, and if I get the chance to work on another Star Fox title, I would definitely consider an online multiplayer mode.”

Level 5 and Capcom have released a trailer for Professor Layton Vs Ace Attorney on the Nintendo 3DS. The game is due out sometime in 2012 in Japan but there’s still no official word on a Western release. Let’s hope Capcom and Level 5 announce something soon!

Link won't just be flying through the clouds in Skyward Sword -- he'll also be jumping down to explore the many islands dotting Skyloft and finding hidden treasures. You get to see how Link can find special magical boxes on the ground that can be destroyed to unlock treasures above. The video also shows off the Wind Waker-esque map of Skyloft and how you'll use beacons to navigate while flying.

Square Enix has finally provided a high quality video of the Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance trailer. The game looks great and I for one am VERY excited!
