Swapnote is the messaging system for the 3DS we’ve all been waiting for!!!

Nintendo will be releasing a free messaging system for the 3DS via the eShop in December. It will be known as Swapnote and will allow owners of the 3DS to “send 3D messages to their friends via the SpotPass™ and StreetPass features. Users can hand-write messages in 3D and also include picture and sound.” There is a video after the break of Swapnote in action.

Update: about this application:

1. It can be downloaded FOR FREE.
2. You can send these messages to your friends, and they will recieve them via SpotPass. So if your friend is not online, they will get them as soon as they open up their 3ds. If they are online, they will get them instantly.
3. You can also send these messages via streetpass.
4. You can include your photos and sounds in the message.

So yes, it is going to be quite awesome.
