More footage of new game from Direct Connect

Footage from tonight's DirectConnect

We heard that Fire Emblem: Kakuse would be receiving paid downloadable content in in March 2012. But, according to Nintendo Direct the game itself is coming out on April 19th, so that’s not possible. I don’t think this invalidates the idea of the game supporting DLC though, only that the implied release date was off.

This release date is for Japan only.

Nikkei in Japan is reporting that Nintendo will roll out their paid downloadable content program for the 3DS in March of next year. The first game to see paid DLC will be the new Fire Emblem for the 3DS. Owners of the 3DS will be able to use prepaid eShop cards and credit cards to pay for the DLC. Third party publishers will start releasing paid DLC for their games on the 3DS sometime next summer.

Satoru Iwata was announced that demos for the following games will be coming to the eShop today in Japan:

  • Theatrhythm Final Fantasy
  • Metal Gear Solid Snake Eater 3D
  • Rhythm Thief
  • Resident Evil Revelations

Nintendo will be holding a second “Nintendo Direct” presentation to close out 2011. Some Japanese fans have spotted the company’s updated UStream page, which states that the event will be held on Tuesday. Similar to the presentation back in October, the latest Nintendo Direct is scheduled for Tuesday at 12 PM in Japan, which is Monday at 10 PM EDT / 7 PM EDT.

It’s unclear if the new presentation will be filled with announcements, though Nintendo did share some pretty substantial news in October. Lost Heroes, 3D Classics: Kid Icarus, and other titles for the handheld were revealed throughout the event.

You can keep track of Nintendo’s UStream page here.
