Last year, Nintendo, who started out as a hanafuda maker, released several sets of Mario playing cards. This December, Nintendo is releasing another themed deck. This time, Zelda.
Priced at ¥1,050 and out this December in Japan, the decks feature art from four Zeldagames. The spades are The Legend of Zelda, the hearts are The Wind Waker, the diamonds are Ocarina of Time 3D, and the clubs are Skyward Sword. Not only do I love that Nintendo is still makes playing cards, I love that Nintendo makes Zeldaplaying cards. ゼルダの伝説トランプ [任天堂] Now that development on The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword has finished, what lies ahead for the series? Producer Eiji Aonuma answered that exact question in an interview with Portuguese gaming site MyGames.
Some fans have been asking for a remake of Majora’s Mask for the 3DS, but it sounds like Nintendo has something completely new in store for the system. Aonuma told the site: “We are already preparing a new game, a game in the series for the Nintendo 3DS, but don’t think that it is a direct sequel to the Zelda titles released on DS. We are talking about a new game, but it takes much of what has been done on previous consoles.” So, does this news rule out Majora’s Mask for 3DS? Absolutely not. In fact, Aonuma revealed that he’s spoken to Miyamoto about the idea, though Nintendo has decided to make a completely original game because it didn’t seem right releasing two remakes so quickly. “It’s something I’m asked about often and I assure you that it is something I’ve spoken to Miyamoto about. But recently we released The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D as a remake. We are considering the idea, but it didn’t seem right to launch a remake one after another, so the next Zelda game on 3DS will be original.” Nintendo has added two new prizes to Club Nintendo. Members with a sufficient amount of coins can purchase the “Classic Super Mario T-Shirt” and “Super Mario Shoelaces”. The shirts come in small, medium, large, and extra large sizes. Each shirt costs 550 coins. The shoelaces will set you back 300 coins.
It’s also worth mentioning that Nintendo will be increasing the coins cost for a couple of old rewards in the near future. Starting December 1, the “Mario 3-Poster Series” and “The Legend Of Zelda 3-Poster Series” will be offered for 400 coins (as opposed to 350) and the “Giant Mii AR Card” will cost 400 coins (as opposed to 300). We all knew that Nintendo had implemented a Zelda themed level in Super Mario 3D Land and now we’ve got exclusive footage of the homage to the Legend of Zelda Series. Unfortunately Mario doesn’t weld a sword, but you can jump into the Boomerang Suit. Super Mario 3D Land has launched in Japan and reports are coming in that say there is a small firmware update included with the game. The firmware adds features including:
A Japanese YouTube user has managed to get his hands on the brand new Ice WhiteNintendo 3DS which came out in Japan today. The Ice White Nintendo 3DS is coming to Europe on December 2nd and will be bundled with Super Mario 3D Land. Nintendo of America has still yet to announce a release date for the console. |
